The fact that Fuerteventura is a paradise of beautiful beaches and stunning nature is something we have already been telling you, and everyone who has visited the island knows this well. But here we also like fun, and across the island geography there are events and parties of all kinds throughout the year.
We’ll tell you about some of the events that, if you’re lucky enough to be in Fuerteventura during the month of August, you must not miss!
World Windsurfing and Kiteboarding Championship; La Carpa – Beaches of Jandía
You can take a “mojito” in one of the best beaches in the world watching water sports at the highest level. The first week of August, the clear waters of the hosting place for the championship will for the first time host a kiteboarding world event in the strapless freesstyle modality, ie freestyle on surfing type board. The show is assured.
The famous “La Carpa” in Fuerteventura does not rest a single night until 6th August 2016. Thousands of people come together on the beach to enjoy the atmosphere and the widest range of music in the purest summer style. Check here the whole programming, but we anticipate that on 3rd August you have an unavoidable appointment with the international artist Jillionarie Deejay.
Youth Week – Gran Tarajal
The village of Gran Tarajal is prepared to offer, on the second half of August 2016, one of its great events: the 41st Youth Week.
From 15th to 28th August 2016, the southern town comes to life, the magnificent beach and the avenue host endless activities of all kinds because, although it is the youth week there is fun for all ages and everybody lets out their younger side.
Although the program is still to be confirmed, we anticipate that you will find the funniest events and activities every day and night: a carnival day in midsummer, the “cholimpiadas” (Olympic Games in flip flops), concerts, sports tournaments…
Fiestas del Buen Viaje – El Cotillo
From 17th to 28th August 2016, the charming fishing village of El Cotillo becomes the epicenter of fun in the north of the island. Ten days of celebration, day and evening activities, night parties, concerts, daytime foam party, activities for children and not so young, sea procession with Our Lady of “Buen Viaje”, the one that takes care of the village fishermen, evening water party… are just some of the many activities that make the little village of El Cotillo a very large one in August!
So, in addition to enjoying the beach, the views, the peace and quiet that Fuerteventura offers, remember that it’s also party time in many other places in August!
